Transparency on whether your donation is spent in accordance with the statutory objectives and policy plan of Stichting Ushersyndroom is very important to us.

Since its inception, Stichting Ushersyndroom has grown from a small family foundation into a professional organization that we can all be very proud of. Thanks to the support and trust of donors, sponsors, and volunteers, this upward trend continues, and the foundation’s activities are expanding. Such significant growth also calls for reflection. What can be improved or done differently? What scale do we ultimately want to reach? What must we do to achieve this? And how can we sustain what has been accomplished? This policy plan outlines the foundation’s activities and policies for the coming years.

Stichting Ushersyndroom has been designated as a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI) by the Dutch Tax Authorities. With this form, we provide insight into our objectives, activities, the main points of our current policy plan, and the composition of our board. This enhances transparency and accountability within our non-profit organization.

The foundation has also been recognized as a Certified Charity by the Central Bureau on Fundraising (CBF), meaning we meet strict quality standards.

If you encounter any issues within the foundation or are involved in a conflict, you can reach out to Liesbeth Geerits. She is the confidential advisor for Stichting Ushersyndroom. If something is bothering you, don’t hesitate to call or email.


We have established a number of internal rules within the foundation. These can be found in our Articles of Association and the regulations for our Advisory Board, Scientific Advisory Board, and ambassadors. We also adhere to the laws, industry standards, and regulations regarding collaborations.
