The Ministry of Health has declared Radboudumc in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, the National Usher Syndrome Expert Centre. A special Usher desk has been set up for people suffering from Usher Syndrome.

Everyone who has been diagnosed for Usher Syndrome or suspects that Usher Syndrome is involved, can make an appointment with this Expert Centre. For this a referral is required from an ENT specialist, an ophthalmologist or the general practitioner.

This referral can be addressed to Dr. R.J.E. Pennings mentioning that this is about Usher Syndrome.
If additional eye tests are required, then also mention Dr. S. Yzer with the request to plan a simultaneous appointment.

An appointment can be requested through the specifically created e-mail address of the Expert Centre.
